Diet for adrenal fatigue part 3

Diet for adrenal fatigue that works – part 3

You will know from the previous post that diet for adrenal fatigue must include good quality meats and good quality fats. However, to prevent problems related to consumption of animal products a smart adrenal diet must contain sufficient amount of detoxifying foods.

If you are suffering from adrenal fatigue and want to finally enjoy good energy throughout the day, you need to realize that you will have to prepare meals at home.

Stop hoping that takeouts and good energy somehow will go together, they don’t and they never will. Diet for adrenal fatigue is very specific, it must include large amounts of nutrient-dense foods and have well-thought out proportions of specific macro-nutrients. No restaurant or take out place will be able to accommodate such needs.

To reduce signs of adrenal fatigue, follow dietary rules from the previous post and include additional tips from the list below.

Diet for adrenal fatigue must consider digestive capacity

Including a fatty cut of steak or a 3-whole egg omelet in your diet is not difficult, however digesting it may present a challenge to many. If your stomach or liver are not prepared to handle a sudden increase in proteins or fats you need to help yourself with foods that improve digestion.

Digestion-improving foods for adrenal fatigue

Below is a short list of foods that help digesting proteins and fats. These foods either increase stomach or liver output or make digestion smoother.

  • Dandelion leaves – liver detoxifier, bitterness increases output of digestive juices
  • Beet leaves – liver tonic, helps improve digestion
  • Apples – improve liver function, improve bile flow
  • Apple cider vinegarincreases stomach acidity for better protein digestion
  • Artichokes – improves bile flow, improves fat digestion
  • Turmeric – strong liver detoxifier, increases bile flow, strong antioxidant
  • Lemons – increase stomach acidity and emulsifies fat
  • Cinnamon – prevents formation of gas
  • Peppermint tea – great for gas and gallbladder stagnation
  • Ginger – prevents and relieves heartburn, improves digestion of fats and proteins

Use the above as spices in food, as teas after and in-between meals, as snacks, appetizers or condiments with meals. They are all digestion and adrenal friendly, but remember to use organics whenever possible. Especially apples and green leaves are highly sprayed with chemicals. Your adrenals do not need any additional health interrupters.

If you are eating fats and proteins you must include at least four cups of fibrous vegetables in your daily diet. Fiber in vegetables will carry excess dietary fat out of your body, regulate blood cholesterol, increase toxin elimination, prevent colon cancer, improve digestive flora and contribute to weight regulation. Fibrous vegetables are also a great aid in blood sugar stabilization, exactly what your adrenals need.

Below is a short list of most useful foods for adrenal fatigue that carry the highest amount of detoxifying soluble fiber:

  • Asparagus
  • Broccoli
  • Cabbage
  • Brussels’s sprouts
  • Cauliflower
  • Carrots
  • Peas
  • Celery
  • Leeks
  • Onions
  • Okra

The richest in vit C veggies are:

  • cauliflower, and
  • Brussels sprouts.

  • kiwis,
  • guavas,

Include these in your daily menu. If, despite all those vitamin C foods and supplements you are still cold and sneezing it is time to take a closer look at the low immune system causes .
