Did you know that blood work can’t detect early signs of low immune system? It’s just not sensitive enough.
To detect weak immune system you need to have a good look at your own body. There are at least 7 early low immune system symptoms that you can spot yourself.
These show up much earlier than the drop in white blood cells your doctor will be looking for. Ref
7 lesser-known low immune system symptoms:
1. Infections that do not go away
The body is designed to fight all sorts of microbes without any prompt. A strong immune system should be able to seamlessly get rid of virus or bacteria without you being aware of it.
If you keep on getting sick that’s not a health sign. Recurring infections, or infections that don’t want to go away are on the top of the list of low immune system symptoms.
Recurring colds, persistent sniffles, lingering sinusitis and that annoying fungus on a toe are all little signs that immune system isn’t working well.
There are many reasons why the immune system goes low, but nutritional deficiencies are on top of the list.
If you find yourself having low immune system symptoms, ensure that you have at least those 6 most important immune-boosting nutrients on your plate.
2. Feeling chilled frequently
Low body temperature may have many causes, but chilled body is more likely to become a host of a flu or cold virus. Ref
Human influenza virus will replicate most vigorously at 33 degrees C (91.4F), which is below normal body temperature. Common cold as well as several other URT viruses also prefer lower temperatures.
If you get sick frequently from getting chilled you need to check your core body temperature in a hurry. Chances are, it is below normal. Get yourself an accurate thermometer and test your BBT. You will find BBT instructions here.
Diet can play a major part in cooling down the body. But even though you may be avoiding ice and ice creams, you still may be loading up on foods that cool the body down without you knowing anything about it.
Every food carries an energetic signature. These can be so powerful that they can chill your body to the bone or make you sweaty hot in a minute. No kidding. Alcohol and a bow of chili has a definitely different thermal effect than lemonade and frozen watermelon.
Below you will find a chart with foods that have the biggest cooling signature. Download it and make a wallpaper out of it, so next time you are getting groceries, you won’t make wrong purchases.

3. Feeling tired
The body requires a tremendous amount of energy when fighting infections. That’s why when you get sick you don’t dance around, but stay in bed.
But don’t get mistaken. Fighting an infection does not always result in a fever. You immune system may be busy battling viruses while you don’t have any other warning symptoms except fatigue.
That`s why persistent fatigue should raise a red flag. Chronic fatigue is that one vague low immune system symptom we may not take into consideration while weighing the immune system strength.
4. Being overweight
Carrying extra pounds isn’t indifferent to the immune system. Adipose tissue isn’t inert. It is intimately communicating with the immune system.
Excess adipose tissue, especially around the stomach is highly inflammatory and chronic inflammation is a major immune system drainer. Ref
Besides, many overweight individuals are more likely to eat poorly, abuse sugar, move far less. All of the above lower the immune system. To improve the immune system, consider weight loss as your primary intervention.
5. Being bloated
Stomach bloating isn’t normal. It isn’t healthy either. Bloating is another one of those low immune system symptoms nobody talks about. How can it be?
Close to 80% of body defenses are in the gut. Ref And bloating is a sign of mal-digestion, which is frequently accompanied by destruction of immuno-protective digestive flora.
Bloating may indicate various things, never anything good. Among those would be gut irritation, lack of good bacteria, lack of digestive enzymes, and even pro-inflammatory diet. Regardless of the reason for stomach bloating consider it to be one of the earliest low immune system symptoms you need to eliminate.

6. Low blood cholesterol
Low blood cholesterol is not a symptom, but a very important predictor of body defensive powers. Ref Many people lower cholesterol in false belief that lower cholesterol numbers is a sign of better health. This is incorrect.
People with low cholesterol have higher susceptibility to infections than those with low cholesterol. Ref They also have statistically higher cancer mortality. Ref
Low cholesterol neither protects against cardiovascular disease nor builds better immune system. In fact, the opposite seems to be true. Get Cholesterol Trap! It may open your eyes for the cholesterol lies you’ve been told.
7. Night sweats
Persistent unresolved infections can cause chronic night sweats. Ref Although infections are not the only reason behind wetting the pillow, get suspicious if it is accompanied with other low immune system symptoms mentioned above.
Low immune system symptoms despite perfect lab work
Body defenses is one of those most difficult areas to test. There are currently no adequate blood test to measure immune system strength. Your doctor can count white blood cells and their subsets, but can’t tell whether they work well.
Blood test does not tell how active or effective white blood cells are. It can only show WBC count. Thus, you may still have a powerlessly low immune system, when your white blood cell count is within normal range.
You could try help to boost the immune system with diet and supplements alone, but you would be better off with a complete approach to colds and flu as explained in Ousting Sniffles.
Here are foods that boost the immune system:
